Dreamscape is about the person you are still becoming.
A woman moves through a shifting landscape of clouds, one foot finding somewhere to land while the rest of her reaches forward.
I originally painted her less as a portrait of who I was and more as an imagined version of who I wanted to become: steady, open, free, and able to move through life on my own terms.
After spending years disconnected from my own wants, making art became one of the ways I learned to ask myself a very simple question again: What do I think?
Dreamscape came from that process of imagining forward.
Not a perfectly healed future self. Not a completely different life. Just the possibility of becoming more at home in the life and body I already have.
For me, she lives in that strange space between where you’ve been and where you’re going - when you may not be there yet, but you can finally picture yourself getting there.
