This painting was inspired by heart-opening yoga poses and by the strange kind of freedom that can come from moving through difficult times with an open mind and an open heart.
The figure floats through soft pink and blue clouds, suspended somewhere between effort and surrender. She isn’t perfectly balanced or firmly planted. She’s moving through it.
For me, that became part of learning to trust myself again: not needing to know exactly where I was going before allowing myself to move forward.
Heart-Minded is a reminder that softness doesn’t have to mean weakness. Sometimes remaining open to yourself, to change, to joy, to whatever comes next is its own kind of strength.
